A story full of passion and tradition – Welcome to Hotel Hubertushof

In the Großarl Valley, just 70 kilometres from Salzburg, the story of the Knapp family began more than 60 years ago. In the 1950s, Hans Knapp's grandparents laid the foundation for a success story with a small taxi business, a cinema, and a modest bed-and-breakfast guesthouse. Over the years, the Großarl Valley — affectionately known as the "Valley of the Alpine Meadows" — grew into an increasingly popular destination for holidaymakers and nature lovers alike.

In 1991, Hannes and Anja Knapp took over the guesthouse. Through their passion for hospitality and their love for their home region, they continually expanded the family business, transforming it into a place where guests feel truly at home.

The third generation: fresh energy and big visions

Since December 2023, the third generation has been at the helm of the Hubertushof: Hans Knapp, a hotelier through and through, has taken over the reins together with his wife Katharina and their young daughter Marie. With a clear vision for the future and a deep connection to tradition, they are bringing their ideas to life.

A generous renovation and extension has recently been completed: numerous rooms have been stylishly refurbished, and the hotel's capacity has been expanded with new, modern rooms. Today, the Hubertushof operates as a 3-star hotel, combining personal, heartfelt service with contemporary comfort and the down-to-earth charm of a genuine family-run business.
